EVTV Friday Show - June 15, 2012

This week:

- Al Gajda's 1939 Dodge
- Jeff Southern's 1974 VW Thing Project
- The Panasonic NCR18650A Nickel Oxide New Platform 3100 mah cell
- Tesla Motors talks of solar powered SuperCharge Network and the Tesla Model S charge port

Jack and Brian talking about the 2013 Chevrolet Volt that will have a 3 miles range extension; What they mention is that many customers, after driving it for several months now, say they barely refill the tank and use it as an EV, realizing they don't need that much range for daily commuting in the end ... (and that a pure electric car would be perfect for that)

Another EV conversion project with this 1939 Dodge Truck

Elon Musk in front of  Tesla shareholders:
- Model S security
- Tesla's strategy
- SuperCharge Network
- Model S charge port

Some fun as usual :-)

Jack presents the Panasonic cell used in TESLA battery packs: it has a very good energy density, over-temperature and over-charge/discharge/current protections
