BMW C Evolution at Intermot in Koln, Germany

During the Motorbike international exhibition Intermot in Koln, Germany, the electric scooter BMW C Evolution won the race "Electric Scooter World Series Championship" held on October 7th.

With the aim to show the latest developments in the field of electric mobility, the race was open to all two-wheelers - prototypes or production models - powered by electricity.

"The track was very nice and I was very surprised by the performance of the scooter as I could reach 110 km/h on the track," said his driver Chris Pfeiffer. "After 30 minutes of running and two more laps, I still had 37% of energy in the battery while most other scooters were flat."

Powered by an electric motor with a maximum power of 35 kW, the BMW C Evolution has a top speed of 120 km/h and acceleration claims to be equivalent to those of maxi-scooters 600 cc. Powered by a 8 kWh lithium-ion battery, ad 100 km of autonomy. Commercialization is expected in 2014.
