Jack shows us his home made electric heating system

and 2 250W engine block heaters will keep the battery pack temp above freezing in winter

A WiFi router plugged into one of the Soliton 1controllers will broadcast data into the cabin ...

and Jack will be able to use the EV Speedo app as a dashboard instrumention display using a Android tablet

The graphical version appears to be slow (bug or WiFi problem ?), so instead here is also some bar graphs showing real time usefull information this time: Temperature, Amps, Volts, RPM from the controller

Electric Escalade: Jack shows us his simple & effective emergency battery pack breaker: a "knife" switch made of solid cupper bars

Jack is doing some more work of molding a 4s 8p A123 pouch cells battery pack

with liquid plastic and expanding foam 

the result is pretty nice ...

Damned ! Jack blew this brand battery pack by overcharging it ...   :-(

EVTV Friday Show - May 11, 2012

This week we begin wiring up the 2008 Cadillac Escalade EXT electric drive version. The motor is in, the battery boxes are in, and we begin working on our 12v system, cabling the battery box to the front of the vehicle, and stealing ignition, start, and heater signals from the Cadillac fuse box. We install some redundant high current solenoids for safety.

A doubled Tyco contactor for the Cadillac Escalade dual motor & dual controller power supply; Jack says this should carry up to 2000 Amps ! 

The Cadilliac Escalade with the 2 Soliton Controllers mounted in each side of the dual Netgain Warp 11 motors; Jack is looking in to the fuse bax to get some signals ...
