EV Parisian afternoon : LEAF, Go Motorboard 2000x, Smart ED, Smart Electric bike, Citroen Saxo Électrique , Vectrix VX-2 ...

This afternoon, going to Paris in our LEAF ...

We went straight to the back of Anne Hidalgo's new home, Hotel de Ville, as she is now the new major of Paris



We found there a Saxo Electrique, one of these 90's first real electric cars, and the Vectrix VX-2 - unsual electric scooter, small brother of the VX-1 I used to ride to work everyday -



Then we unloaded the Go Motorboard 2000X from the trunk and plugged in to charge, as a police officer came to us and said hi, and immediately saw I was installing the EVSE charge cable, and then only realized we had an electric car, and turned around: he wanted to tell us to move out of this EV only charge spot :-)

The kids started using the Go Motorboard and went ahead of their parents ...







After a little walk in Marais, I took the electric scooter and went up North one kilometer to see what was going on close to 3rd district city hall ... and there was a Smart ED event, with 3 white inflated booth to explain the electric drive version of their famous city car along with matching electric bike and test drives




















Next to this was an exhibition where BMW was showing the i3 and the i8, but it was not free to get in, and I did not feel like paying 15 EUR to see this hybrid expensive car ...


Then I rode back down to the park where the kids were playing and hanging out, and they took the 2000X back to ride it some more through this busy neighborhood :-)







On the way back we stopped by Rue Saint Anne, between two fire crew trucks, and Yoko and Béa went for some Japanese food to take home



Some girls were amazed by the firemen exercising in music :-) and we could hear that from the LEAF ..

Pollution Alert in Paris ! Diesel again ...

Heavy #pollution in #Paris this morning: big yellow smog ; 70% diesel cars and now the visible result ... Switch to#EV ! ( or ride a bike), please

It is a over the news and people are starting to see the effect of heavy diesel transportation in France ...







Public transportation is Free for 3 days starting today, but buses are still diesel ...

Only one person seems to have the political will to fight diesel and it is Anne Hidalgo, running for major of Paris

New Nissan LEAF test drive in Paris - Day 2

This time with the whole family, we headed to Marais, in the center of Paris

With my cap, French taxi driver style, in the Bus Lane ...

You have to be twice more careful in the bus lane, with all the bicycles, especially Velib users not always used to cycling ...

So now, we have to plug into the regular 220V outlet, using the LEAF EVSE that is in the backpack



What's this yellow label ? Well it says: "Never use and extension cord": Oh really ? What about my 3m extension cord when I plug in in the street and 10m extension cord in the parking; Not a problem after 2.5 years of use



Guess what, because it is too short, so I have to back up and I am parked over one scooter spot


Still, too short, and without closing this lid, no power :-(


The new EVSE J1772 plug is different BTW, looks cheaper


We finally have to move to the other spot ...



and plug in



and after 10mn, we are charging (that's why I have a 3m extension cord attached to my EVSE, always)



We can now enjoy a little walk in the Marais ...
