New Electric compilation video for EVCCON 2013 presentation

Anne Kloppenborg was at the third EVCCON, 2013, two weeks ago, and he did another presentation of his work on Boats conversions to Electric Drive; Here is the compilation mostly on the original boat, a 1974 Glastron BayFlite

"New Electric was called back to the EVCCON stage for its 2013 edition in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
To get things moving I started out with a new edit of some of our Glastron footage, trying to focus on the emotion and EV Grins that are the result of electric power on the water."

Demo during at boating convention in MAsterdam

Speedo app for speed, GPS based, RPM, etc

EV grin 3: His wife or girlfriend (?) seems to love it too :-)

Installing music on-board, yes you can now listen to music because the motor is quiet compared to gas powered engine

Fasten your seatbelt, 3, 2, 1 !

Pretty good speed, here at 50km/h+

New Electric Glastron V174 Bayflite cold weather acceleration and speed run !

Anne Kloppenborg from New Electric in Amsterdam his testing its 74' Electric Bayflite Speedboat in the cold : Cold & Wet but no Torque problem for this amazing conversion !

"It's end of season here in Amsterdam and soon will be time to bring the boat back into the shop.
We wanted to get some extra footage and see what our cold weather performance is like. It was about 2C outside air temp, nevermind the windchill when going at 50kmh..brr!
Pack had been charged previous evening and went into the night at 25C. After sitting outside in a -2C night, the pack was at 10C when we starrted shooting around midday."

Waterskiing the New Electric Speedboat

Anne Kloppenborg from Amsterdam is waterskiing behind his New Electric SpeedBoat !

Looks like a lot of fun :-)

Notes from the New Electric Team:

This boat is a 1974 Glastron Bayflite. It used to have a 130HP Volvo Engine.

We converted the boat to Electric Drive. All the EV components, including the batteries,
weigh approx 465 kg. (~1000lb) making us only 70 kg. heavier, while putting out 1.5 times the HP and TWICE the torque of the original.

With the current setup we can go 20 minutes @55kph. 45 minutes @35kph, or cruise around the canals of Amsterdam for days @7kph. We recharge overnight, so we installed a 1 fase charger that does a full charge in 5 hours. With a 3 fase charger this would be less than 2 hours.

Want more range?
Buy more batteries.

Want quicker charging?
Up your mains connection and get a bigger charger.

Or, better yet:
Install a solar-panel-fed motherbank of batteries in your home
and charge from battery to battery in 20 minutes.

Our New Electric future is here, Plug into the sun! info@newelectric.nl

New Electric - Sunset Testing the Electric Speedboat

Another great video from Amsterdam with Anne Kloppenborg from New Electric and their 74 Glastron Bayflite speedboat conversion with a smartphone Android app (Android EV Speedo) showing real time Amps draw, Voltage, Controller temp, RPM, speed, GPS location, ... Very cool stuff ;-)

Android EV Speedo App:

Just discovered this video from them Amsterdam Sustainable Tradeshow last year, showing their conversion work and this great Android smarphone app

Amsterdam Sustainable Tradeshow: New Electric boat conversion

The app ! It looks simple: A router is plugged into the Soliton 1 controller ethernet port and the Android EV Speedo app is receiving data from this router, is displaying them in nice visual instrumentation like gauges => Awesome !
