DIY ESS Switched Off during my summer vacation for 15 days

For the 3rd summer in a row, during my vacation, I switched Off my home Energy Storage System, this year for 2 weeks only

Since it is On all the time, day and night, with people at home or not, this year I wondered if I should have left in On for once, but since everything at home is Off, including the high energy consuming water heater, I figured for safety reasons I should turn it off as ususal

Here is the Energy graph the month of August showing this 15 days period where I dumped some surplus solar energy ...

Still over this month half of the Energy used at home comes from Solar & Storage ...

Back last saturday night, I immediatly switched it back On, and it has been performing as usual since

All these graphs are from here: http://wattson.energyhive.com/dashboard/diyesskit

Wasting a lot since I am on vacation and turned OFF the ESS ... Oh well

I know it is a shame but I am wasting a lot of Solar Energy these days because I switched OFF my LiFePO4 ESS, but left the SMA inverter ON; I just did not want to leave it ON all this time while far away from home with not much usage but the fridge and small appliances

So it is producing during the day and covers my daytime small usage at least , but all the Surplus is just fed back to the grid (for free and invoiced to my neighbors by the utility company BTW)

This is the perfect time to see all the surplus energy that can be stored on a daily basis

PWM Kit received for the Tyco Kilovac EV200A1ANA

Look what came in the mail yesterday :-)

A small PWM kit I ordered few days ago to replace the resistor & capacitor used as an economizer for the Tyco Kilovac EV200A1ANA that requires one

This resistor & capacitor have been doing the job, except that the resistor is burning some energy in heat  and this is maybe no the best way to handle this problem

Now, I just have to switch on my soldering iron and put all this components together on the PCB ...

In summer I am feeding back way too much into the grid

My average consumption in summer being 70W, when nothing is switched on, when I switch ON my Energy Storage Device in Inverter Mode, it produces 400W, so I am loosing 330W getting out of my home grid circuits and wasted in a way
I have to find a way to produce less in Summer or, better, exactly what I need ...

Energy Storage System OFF => Wattson reads 72W (no loads in the house, apart phantom ones)

Energy Storage System ON => Wattson reads - 324W !

I am also considering changing my Battery Pack configuration to 24V, using smaller Grid Tie Inverter producing only 220W, that would be more appropriate for this
