Looking for a solution to Charge the LEAF at an Autolib Station

Since last saturday, when we found out that an Autolib Charging cable is too short for a LEAF, I have been looking for a solution ....

All Autolib charging stations have a Type 3 outlet and plug, a J1772 to plug into the car, (and third party EV ones have a regular 220V outlet)

First I thought, let's get a Type 3 (only in France ...) to J1772 cable, 7 meters long at least to go from the back of the car to the front charge port; I found one on Yoann's Automobile Propre Online Store
But it is too pricy for me ...

Also found one on Leboncoin.fr, but it is also 300EUR and 5m long only ... and the LEAF is 4.5m long, so it is too short too

Then I thought: No this Type 3 will eventually come to an end since it is not used at all other than in France, and all Europe is using Type 2 / Mennekes
So let's stay with Autolib J1772, and extend it to the front of the LEAF with a J1772 Extension Cable, yes it does exist, in the US at least, and a good one

After requesting a quote, it comes to 385USD shipped to France, too pricy still, but looks very well built, and has been sold by hundreds I was told
Here is a picture of a user who charges his Tesla Model S with it in Hawaii

Finally this morning, I came across this French guy's website on his Opel Ampera (= Chevy Volt in Europe) and all his charging adpators (a lot)

I asked him and it looks like it has been made by a company in Germany, and I am trying to get in touch with them to get one

I will use it on the Autolib charging station, unplugging their Type 3 plug, and plugging this one instead, and plug my regular LEAF EVSE ...

Ikea Fast Charging & Swedish Meat Balls Lunch

Last thursday, I went to IKEA for a little shopping and also a DC Fast Charge, few kilometers away from work during lunch break

6 bars / 12 : roughly half state of charge - SOC -

A woman interested in Fast Charging :-)
Actually I got many people looking at me parking on this spot and commenting: "This must be an Electric Car ..." and think it requires this huge Charging Station to fill up ...

CHAdeMO Yazaki Connector in place

Starting the Charge at 55%

Charge begins and it says: Voltage: 390V, Current 90A

Plugged in, Charging, in the sun, I am going in to eat something now !

IKEA's Special: Swedish Meat Balls and French Fries :-) not bad

LEAF Link App says 80% state of Charge is already reach while I am still in the middle of my lunch

Swedish life style ... gotta love it  !

I went there to get table feet : 4 x 2.5 EUR per piece, a bargain

I know these ... I use one of them for my DIY ESS, the older grey version; Now they are available in Red and White only, but you can still find used older version in grey ...

Install your ESS in it and put your TV on top !

After getting 4 iron table feet for 10 bucks (EUR), I finally got out of IKEA ...

Charge is over: 98% SOC, it took 60mn, 11.3kWh used

100% charge !

BTW, right next to the DBT Charging Station spot is the Autolib Charging Spot, and a Renault ZOE was parked there, charging, using its own cable

Type 2 / Mennekes connector into the ZOE

Type 3 plug, used only in France ... not for long anymore, Type 2 is now adopted by us too ...
Notice that IKEA / Autolib Charging Stations include the Scooter 220V Regular Outlet, so I could slow charge there too ... if I had the Autolib EV card - 180 EUR / Year, 15 EUR / Month -

The next, I went back there with my son to show him my work location and office building nearby and get some stainless steel wall covers for the kitchen and some Swedish crepes ...
A liitle comment to DBT CEV fast charging station maker: we can not see links between the screen and the buttons when in the dark ...
Other than that, we got a 80% charge very quickly and a spot right in front of he entrance while raining a lot

Marais 1er Avril 2013 - Charging & Autolib Station

Charging as usual behind Mairie de Paris ...

The new Autolib Station right next to it has its Third Party EV Charge Spot available - for once ! - with an electric car logo painted in white; Note that this spot is longer for an Electric Scooter to be able to park in the back and charge

Autolib Station - Rue Lacordaire 75015 & Go Motorboard Electric Scooter

New Autolib Station in rue Lacordaire, Paris, where I dropped off some family members yesterday.
Kids had great fun again using daddy's Go Motorboard electric scooter :-) on this first warm day after a long cold winter here ...

It looks like I am the first one using this brand new station, with no Autolib parked on it yet
