Two Years Riding my BMW C Evolution and 20,000 km

20/06/2014 - 20/06/2016 That's 2 years now
(Last year's post: http://www.myelifenow.com/2015/07/already-one-year-with-bmw-c-evolution.html)

This year I used only my C Evoultion to commute, no LEAF at all even in winter

During last fall, with my son's GoPro, we made some onboard videos, in Paris, on the freeway, and that was fun

More videos on my Youtube Channel : https://www.youtube.com/user/chris75sf/videos

I also got my grand father sitting on the scooter for a rare fun picture :)

Many colleagues are interested in buying one, and the price is still the problem for them, I usually answer that I did not have the money to buy it back then and got a loan and pay 252 EUR per month over 6 years; I do not regret it ...

I often tell them to get it used: You can now get one with 3,000 km for 2/3 of the retail price: It's a very good deal !

DIY ESS - Powering the Electric Train !

Winter is here and it is the perfect time to take the Electric Train out of the closet and play with the kids in a warm home

My daughter is actually discovering since I did not use it for years, since she was to young; She seems to like it :-)

Helped by a little bit of solar, our home DIY ESS is providing power to the whole home, for heating, cooking, lighting, ... and even for the Electric Train !

Just starting with a small circuit

Yes, I put a solar panel on the train station roof, back 7 years ago - used for lighting -

A bit dusty, but still fine

Many rails in there, we did some big circuits years ago with up to 4 trains, including a TGV Est, the very first version of the famous French high speed train of the 80s

Stay tuned ...

My LEAF in the Snow :-)

Winter is here for sure and it has been snowing all night here in Boulogne - Paris, France - and I had to take my son to his karate competition on sunday morning ... All the streets were white and empty ...
For the first time I drove the LEAF in the snow and I must say that the handling is very good, with traction control and ABS, it is really hard to make it slide

Karate competition cancelled, of course, only locals could come, so we headed back home and after disabling the traction control (lower left button ESP OFF), we had a little bit of fun on the snow with the electric motor torque, the front wheels are very quicly spinning fast and the whole car slowly drifts sideways; I had to be carefull not to break my - expensive - toy ...

Is it Electric ? Winter Sleeves on Vectrix

The question I get at least once a day during my commute riding my Vectrix VX1: "Is it Electric ?"
I usually answer "Yes", showing the markings on the side of the leg cover

Now that we are getting closer to freezing temperature, I had to put the Winter Sleeves back on the handles and hopefully I will get less questions ...

1°C this morning, frozen water on the way...
